Alyssa Custer started Bug and Baloo in 2020, after she became reacquainted with sewing clothing as a way to cope with the Covid stay-at-home order. She first began sewing as a young girl in the 4-H program through Oregon State University Extension Service. She went on to obtain a B.S. Fashion Merchandising at Philadelphia University (Jefferson) where she honed her technical skills in clothing construction. Now, she has repurposed the guest bedroom in her Conshohocken row house as her sewing studio.
Each item is made by hand using material from reputable sources. Bug and Baloo is now accepting orders for bespoke children's clothing. Please send an email describing what items you would like to order along with material, size, and color requirements. We will work out pricing and schedule with you.
